It wasn’t until some years later with the massive modernisation program of the entire Central Line in the late 1990s that it became more commonplace. ![]() Until the Victoria Line first opened to passengers in 1968, it was nothing more than a concept that was being trialled out on a small section of the Central Line. One of the most frequently discussed subjects around London Underground routes for BVE is that of Automatic Train Operation (ATO).
